Biography
Dr. Scott J. Latiolais serves as President of the Westshore Campus and Hospitality Management Center of Excellence at Cuyahoga Community College. Tri-C®, located in the Cleveland Metro Area, serves over 41,000 students annually and offers 200+ career training and transfer programs across four campuses. Latiolais is an innovative, student-centered higher education leader with more than two decades of professional experience, including senior-level expertise in career and transfer education. He provides leadership to promote equity through a high-impact, proactive approach to student access, learning, completion, and employment.
Latiolais began his higher education career with foundations in student and academic affairs in the New York and Seattle-Tacoma Metro Areas at New York University, The University of Maryland, The Art Institute of Seattle, Manhattan School of Music, and The University of Washington. Before coming to Tri-C®, he served as the Dean of Student Success at Renton Technical College and Vice President of Student Success at Clover Park Technical College. Cumulatively, Latiolais has over two decades of post-graduate, progressive experience and has held various teaching and administrative positions spanning the spectrum of higher education.
Latiolais holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and French Linguistics from Louisiana State University, a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from The University of Tennessee, and a Doctor of Education in Community College Leadership from Northern Illinois University. He is professionally engaged in service, leadership, and public speaking at the state and national levels. Dr. Latiolais was recently appointed to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Commission on Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation.
